Did you know you can come into our shop and use our sewing machines even without being enrolled in a sewing workshop? It’s called Open Sewing, and it’s only $10 per hour! Sew your latest project in our shop! If you've got a project to tackle but need a sewing machine and space to make it happen, join us for open sew hours. Walk-ins are accepted, but we encourage you to reserve ahead of time! Register here to reserve your spot for one hour, then tack on more time at the shop if you need to keep working.
Want to come at a time not listed here? No problem! Depending on our event schedule we can occasionally accommodate additional slots between 11:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Friday andJust shoot us an email at info@brooklyncraftcompany.com with a suggested time and we'll see what we can do to synch with your schedule!
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: You do not need advanced sewing skills to attend Open Sewing, but you must have basic machine sewing knowledge. Our Sewing 101 or equivalent experience is a prerequisite to this event. Unfortunately, we cannot accept attendees who have never sewn on a machine as an instructor will not be present. All projects worked on during Open Sewing Hours will be 100% self-guided. If you've never sewn before or need a refresher, please join us for one of our Sewing 101 classes, either sewing a tote bag or a skirt!
During your time with us, you will have access to:
- a Bernina computerized sewing machine
- our big table
- an iron
- pins
- chalk
- quilting rulers
- seam ripper
- rotary cutters
- fabric and paper scissors
- a cutting mat
- a bobbin case
We do not have a serger or embroidery machine.
Bring your own:
- project(s)
- fabric
- thread
- notions
- anything else you require that is not included in our list above
