We're obsessed with all things craft and DIY, and our goal here at Brooklyn Craft Co is to bring you creative inspiration, top-notch workshops, amazing products, and lethal levels of cuteness.
Carolyn Heitmann, Owner
During a routine Garment District shopping trip in 2014, Carolyn had an epiphany: she wanted to build a business out of her lifelong crafty hobbies. As luck will have it, she discovered the very newly formed Brooklyn Craft Company just a few months later. Here she was able to quickly put her career in operations management to good use, and has since taught hundreds in DIY dyeing, bookbinding, and lots more. In the meantime, Carolyn founded Bits and Bobs Craft Club, under which she hosted crafty events at Brooklyn bars, and later operated a year-long pop-up shop of cute and crafty things. In 2016 she teamed up with Brett Bara to open the next iteration of Brooklyn Craft Company: the retail store and online shop! Carolyn lives in Ridgewood with her dog Frank.
